Just out from Oxford University Press is this interesting looking piece:

Update (7 June): I received a note this morning that this title is now available on Oxford Scholarship On-line. Those with subscriptions to this (including many universities) will now be able to read the whole thing on-line. I, for one, am looking forward to it.

Is this a respose to some of Elaine Pagels' work? I think she had some stuff on the competition/correction in John of Thomas (example - doubting Thomas in John as a story countering the Gospel of Thomas). Are there other works that Dunerberg is engaging?

Yes, Pagels is clearly in focus here. She was in part dependent on Gregory Riley's work, Resurrection Reconsidered. I don't know that there is anything else much, though I think that Charlesworth suggests Thomas is the beloved disciple in John, if I remember rightly.
